Joe Gladstone is an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Marketing at the Rady School of Management, University of California, San Diego. He studies financial decision-making using large-scale bank transaction records matched to psychological data, with a focus on how personality, wellbeing and relationships shape what people do with money. His research appears in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing Research and Psychological Science, and has been covered by The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic and the BBC. He was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Finance and previously held faculty positions at University College London and the University of Colorado Boulder.
